Offline Maps
Offline Maps
Australia's road network includes plenty of areas with poor or no mobile coverage. Truck Me lets you download map regions so navigation works everywhere, even without signal.
Downloading a Region
- Go to Settings → Offline Maps or tap the download icon on the map.
- Select a region, choose from predefined regions (states, corridors) or draw a custom area.
- Review size, Truck Me shows the estimated download size before you commit.
- Download, best done on Wi-Fi. Downloads run in the background.
What's Included
Offline map packs include:
- Map tiles, full vector map data powered by Mapbox, including road names, landmarks, and terrain.
- NHVR network overlay, the colour-coded road access layer for your vehicle type.
- Bridge data, bridge locations and clearance heights for offline bridge warnings.
- Speed limits, posted speed limit data for speed alert functionality.
Predefined Regions
Common download regions:
| Region | Coverage | Approx. Size |

| NSW | All of New South Wales | ~250 MB |
| QLD | All of Queensland | ~280 MB |

Managing Downloads
- Update, map data is updated periodically. Truck Me notifies you when updates are available for your downloaded regions.
- Delete, remove regions you no longer need to free storage.
- Storage usage, see total offline storage used in Settings → Offline Maps.
Offline Navigation
When you lose mobile signal:
- Map display, seamless switch to offline tiles. No loading screens or blank areas.
- Route following, turn-by-turn navigation continues using the downloaded data.
- Bridge warnings, still active using cached bridge data.
- Speed alerts, still active using cached speed limit data.
Features that require live data (fuel prices, community incidents, route recalculation) are unavailable until connectivity returns. Incidents reported while offline are queued and submitted automatically when you're back online.
Tips
- Download your commonly travelled regions before heading out.
- Update offline maps monthly to get the latest NHVR network changes.
- Use Wi-Fi for large downloads, state-level regions can be 150–300 MB.
