Driver Logbook

Driver Logbook

Truck Me includes a built-in driver logbook with three tiers. Choose the level of tracking that suits your workflow, from zero overhead to full trip logging with export.

Three Tiers

Tier 1: Off

No logbook functionality. Truck Me works purely as a routing and navigation app. Choose this if you use a separate EWD (Electronic Work Diary) or don't need trip tracking.

Tier 2: Reminders

Lightweight prompts without active tracking:

  • Trip start prompt, when you begin navigation, Truck Me asks: "Log this trip?" with quick-tap yes/no.
  • Trip end prompt, when you arrive at your destination, a prompt to record the trip.
  • Rest break reminders, configurable reminders based on drive time (e.g. alert after 5 hours continuous driving).

No odometer tracking, no background recording. Just simple prompts to help you remember.

Tier 3: Tracking

Full trip logging with data capture:

  • Odometer entry, prompted at trip start and end. Calculates trip distance.
  • Rest break logging, record break start/end times with location.
  • Trip history, searchable list of all logged trips with date, origin, destination, distance, and drive time.
  • Export, export trip logs as CSV or PDF for record-keeping or compliance.

Setting Your Tier

  1. Go to Settings → Driver Logbook.
  2. Select your tier, Off, Reminders, or Tracking.
  3. Configure options (Tier 2 & 3):
    • Rest break reminder interval (e.g. every 5 hours, 5.5 hours).
    • Auto-log trips (skip the "Log this trip?" prompt and always record).

Trip Log Details

Each logged trip (Tier 3) records:

FieldDescription
DateTrip date
OriginStart location
DestinationEnd location

End odoOdometer at arrival

Drive timeTotal time in motion
Rest breaksNumber and total duration

Exporting Logs

From the trip history screen:

  1. Select date range, pick the period you want to export.
  2. Choose format, CSV (for spreadsheets) or PDF (for records).
  3. Export, file is saved to your device or shared via email/messaging.

Important Note

Truck Me's logbook is a convenience tool, not a certified Electronic Work Diary (EWD). It does not replace NHVR-approved EWD systems for fatigue management compliance. If you need a certified EWD, use a dedicated system alongside Truck Me.
